Can I put a plant straight in it?

Use it as a cover: keep the plant in its own pot, on a saucer, inside the basket. Seagrass should not sit in water.

Which size do I need?

Base × top × height: S 16 × 22 × 23 cm, M 25 × 31 × 32 cm, L 34 × 40 × 45 cm, XL 38 × 45 × 50 cm.

Why is the colour uneven?

Old and new seagrass are woven together and dry to slightly different tones, so some strands are greener or paler than others.

Does it really fold?

Yes. There is no frame inside, so it folds flat and opens back into shape.

A round seagrass basket with a wide belly, a narrower top and two woven handles. It is hand-woven and has no rigid frame, so it folds flat when you are not using it and opens back into shape.

Four sizes, from 23 cm / 9.1 in to 50 cm / 19.7 in tall. The small ones slip over a plant pot; the large ones hold laundry, blankets or toys.

Our materials

We work with solid wood, stone, glass and natural fibre, chosen for how they age rather than how they photograph. Every piece is finished by hand, so grain, tone and outline shift from one to the next.

A basket that folds away

Most baskets take up the same room full or empty. This one has no frame, so when the blankets go back on the bed or the plant moves on, it folds flat and goes in a drawer until next time.

A few things worth knowing before it arrives.

Can it get wet?

Keep it dry. It is fine for a potted plant on a saucer, not for standing water.

How do I clean it?

Shake or vacuum out the dust and wipe with a barely damp cloth. Let it dry fully.

Are the sizes exact?

Close. Each basket is made by hand, so allow about 2 cm either way.

Which size for a plant pot?

Measure your pot against the base: 16 cm on the S, 25 cm on the M, 34 cm on the L and 38 cm on the XL.

The variation is the object, not a flaw.

Every piece is shaped, sanded and finished in a small workshop. Grain, tone and outline move from one to the next, so the piece that arrives is yours rather than a copy of the photograph.
