Warm fired clay, unglazed, so it breathes the way terracotta is supposed to.
LIMEWASHED TERRACOTTAHobnail surface
Clay blushing through · Indoor or out
A small round planter covered in rows of raised hobnail bumps, with a plain band at the rim. The white is a chalky limewash brushed thin over terracotta, so the warm clay blushes through at the rim, on the high points and around the base.

6 in / 15 cm across and 5 in / 13 cm tall, holding 1.2 qt / 1.1 L — the size for a single succulent, a herb or a cutting.
Treat it as a cover pot: keep the plant in its nursery pot inside, or add a layer of gravel and water sparingly.
It's a limewash brushed thin over terracotta, so the warm clay shows through at the rim and on the raised bumps.
Yes, it's weather resistant. Bring it in before a hard frost, as with any terracotta.
Hobnail Terracotta Planter
A small round planter covered in rows of raised hobnail bumps, with a plain smooth band at the rim. The white is a chalky limewash brushed thin over terracotta, so the warm clay blushes through at the rim, on the high points of the bumps and around the base. Unglazed and matte, the kind of surface that catches side light rather than reflecting it.
Six inches across and five tall — the size for a single succulent, a herb, or a cutting on a windowsill. Weather resistant, so it can go outside when the season allows.
Free shipping on every order, wherever you are. No minimum, no handling fee at checkout.
Orders are prepared in 1–3 business days. Delivery then takes 3–7 business days from a US warehouse, or 7–20 from an overseas workshop. Tracking arrives by email, and an order with several pieces can turn up in more than one parcel.
Changed your mind? You have thirty days. Return shipping within the US is on us.
We work with solid wood, stone, glass and natural fibre, chosen for how they age rather than how they photograph. Every piece is finished by hand, so grain, tone and outline shift from one to the next.
A QUIET OBJECT
Six inches across is a deliberate size. One succulent, one herb, one cutting in water — the pot that turns a windowsill or a bathroom shelf into something you notice, without asking for the floor space a real planter needs.

MATERIAL & MAKING
Terracotta, hobnail rows and a limewash wiped back.
Body
Warm fired clay, unglazed, so it breathes the way terracotta is supposed to.
Surface
Rows of raised bumps around the body, with one plain smooth band left at the rim.
Finish
Brushed thin so the clay blushes through at the rim, on the high points and around the base.
Use
Weather resistant enough for a terrace, quiet enough for a bathroom shelf.
FROM THE WORKSHOP
“A thick coat of white would cover the clay and you'd lose the whole point. We brush it thin and wipe it back, so the terracotta keeps showing through where the surface stands proud.

GOOD TO KNOW
A few things worth knowing before it arrives.
A single succulent, a herb, or a small cutting. It holds 1.2 qt / 1.1 L of soil.
Easiest is to keep the plant in its nursery pot, lift it out to water and drop it back once it has drained.
The limewash is meant to wear a little at the edges over time. That's the finish ageing, not failing.
Matte and chalky, with the hobnail bumps standing proud. Unglazed, so it catches side light rather than reflecting it.
Bring it in before a hard freeze. Terracotta holds water in the clay and hard frost can crack any pot.

Made by hand
Every piece is shaped, sanded and finished in a small workshop. Grain, tone and outline move from one to the next, so the piece that arrives is yours rather than a copy of the photograph.
