How big is it?

14 x 6.5 in / 36 x 17 cm, and 2.3 in / 6 cm tall including the rail. Long enough for a candle and two glasses, narrow enough to sit on a bathroom counter.

What is the rail for?

It stops things sliding off while you carry the tray. It also gives the edge a line of black that ties the wood to the metal already in the room.

Can I put wet glasses on it?

Briefly. Bamboo is sealed but not waterproof — wipe spills rather than letting them stand, and never put it in the dishwasher.

Does it scratch a table?

The base is flat bamboo with no metal touching the surface. On a lacquered table, a felt pad or a cloth underneath is still the safe habit.

A few things worth knowing before it arrives.

Is it real bamboo?

Yes, solid bamboo rather than a printed board. You can see the grain lines running the length of the tray.

Will the black rail chip?

It is powder-coated rather than painted, which is a far harder finish. Dropping it on a stone floor would mark it; ordinary use will not.

Can I use it for food?

For dry food and served plates, yes. It is a tray rather than a board — don't cut on it and don't let anything oily sit on the wood.

How do I clean it?

A damp cloth and a dry-off. No dishwasher, no soaking, no abrasive sponge on the black rail.

Does it come assembled?

Yes. It arrives as one piece, ready to put down wherever you need it.
