How big is it?

7 in / 18 cm tall. Small — it is built to stand next to taller pieces rather than on its own.

How many stems does it take?

One or two. The neck is deliberately narrow, which is what keeps the teardrop shape readable.

Can I put water in it?

Keep it to dried stems. The finish is not made for standing water.

What does it go with?

Anything taller in the same palette. It was drawn to be the small piece in a group of three, not the centrepiece.

The neck is narrow — one or two dried stems, no more. Pairs naturally with the taller pieces rather than standing alone.

Orders are prepared in 1–3 business days. Delivery then takes 3–7 business days from a US warehouse, or 7–20 from an overseas workshop. Tracking arrives by email, and an order with several pieces can turn up in more than one parcel.

A QUIET OBJECT

The line between them is the whole design

There is nothing else on it. No pattern, no texture, no handle. One horizontal cut across a teardrop, warm clay below and flat black above, and that is the object. Which is why it works standing next to two taller pieces instead of competing with them.

Fired hard and dense, with the weight of real ceramic rather than the lightness of a cast piece.

Warm terracotta

The lower half keeps the colour of the clay, which is what stops the black half reading as cold.

Matte black

Flat, with no sheen, so the boundary between the two tones stays hard and clean.

Small neck

Sized for one or two stems. Any more and the shape disappears behind the arrangement.

Everything depends on where the line falls. A centimetre too high and the piece looks top heavy; too low and it looks like a mistake. We mark it by eye every time, against the curve of that particular piece.

Questions, answered

A few things worth knowing before it arrives.

Is the line exactly level on every piece?

It is marked by eye against each piece, so the height varies by a millimetre or two. Stood in a group you would never see it.

Can it hold water?

Keep it to dried material. The finish is decorative rather than sealed for standing water.

Is it too small on its own?

On a wide console, yes — it is drawn as the small piece in a group. On a bedside table or a shelf it stands perfectly well alone.

How do I clean it?

A damp cloth on the outside. Nothing abrasive on the matte half, and no dishwasher.

Will the black rub off?

No. It is a fired finish, not a paint layer — it wears like the ceramic underneath it.

Every piece is shaped, sanded and finished in a small workshop. Grain, tone and outline move from one to the next, so the piece that arrives is yours rather than a copy of the photograph.
