How big is it?

Treat it as decorative. For fresh stems, stand a small glass or liner inside rather than filling the vase itself.

A few things worth knowing before it arrives.

Can I use fresh flowers?

Use a glass liner inside it. The piece is made as a sculptural object rather than a watertight vase.

Is every one the same shape?

No. Each is folded by hand, so the outline and the way the faces meet differ from piece to piece.

Does matte black mark easily?

It shows dust more than a glaze would, but it wipes clean with a dry cloth and doesn't scuff easily.

What looks right in it?

Two or three dried stems, a single branch, or nothing. Anything dense fights the silhouette.

Is it heavy enough to be stable?

Yes — 2.5 lb of stoneware with a broad base. It won't go over with a couple of stems in it.

Every piece is shaped, sanded and finished in a small workshop. Grain, tone and outline move from one to the next, so the piece that arrives is yours rather than a copy of the photograph.
