12 in / 30 cm wide and 11 in / 28 cm tall — sized around a standard nursery pot for a young indoor tree.
A fiddle leaf fig, a ficus or a young olive. Anything that comes in a pot that fits inside it.
No. Keep the plant in its own pot inside and lift it out to water.
The white cord is wrapped around the rim with the tassels worked into it, so they stay where they are.
Tasselled Cotton Basket
A round basket stitched by hand in cotton rope, with a white cord and tassels wrapped around the rim. Warm brown underneath, cream on top, with two handles worked into the sides.
Eleven inches tall and wide enough for a fiddle leaf fig, a ficus or a young olive tree in its nursery pot. There is no drainage hole, so keep the pot inside it rather than planting straight in.
Free shipping on every order, wherever you are. No minimum, no handling fee at checkout.
Orders are prepared in 1–3 business days. Delivery then takes 3–7 business days from a US warehouse, or 7–20 from an overseas workshop. Tracking arrives by email, and an order with several pieces can turn up in more than one parcel.
Changed your mind? You have thirty days. Return shipping within the US is on us.
We work with solid wood, stone, glass and natural fibre, chosen for how they age rather than how they photograph. Every piece is finished by hand, so grain, tone and outline shift from one to the next.
A QUIET OBJECT
A young olive or a fiddle leaf is an expensive plant standing in a cheap pot. Cotton rope, a cream rim and a pair of tassels fix that for a fraction of the cost of a ceramic planter — and weigh nothing when you decide to move it.

MATERIAL & MAKING
Coiled cotton, a cream rim and tassels at the top.
Fibre
Coiled and stitched round on round, so the wall is rope all the way through rather than fabric over a frame.
Colour
Warm brown below, cream above — a line that sits at the height where the leaves start.
Detail
A white cord wrapped at the rim with tassels worked in, which keeps the top from reading flat.
Handles
Two handles stitched into the sides, so a full pot can be moved without dragging it.
FROM THE WORKSHOP
“Rope coiled and stitched by hand takes hours and gives you a basket with no frame inside it. It bends a little when you lift it, and then it sits back exactly as it was.

GOOD TO KNOW
A few things worth knowing before it arrives.
It's 12 in / 30 cm wide inside the rim, which takes the standard nursery pot most indoor trees are sold in.
Lift the pot out first. There's no drainage hole and cotton rope holds damp longer than you'd want.
Slightly. Each basket is stitched by hand, so where the brown meets the cream shifts a little from piece to piece.
Spot clean with a damp cloth and let it dry fully. Don't machine wash it.
Yes — the two handles are stitched into the wall, not glued on. Lift by both rather than one.

Made by hand
Every piece is shaped, sanded and finished in a small workshop. Grain, tone and outline move from one to the next, so the piece that arrives is yours rather than a copy of the photograph.
