What sizes are they?

One is 10 in / 25 cm tall and the other 8 in / 20 cm. Together they read as a pair; alone, either one still works.

Are candles included?

No. They take standard tapers — the black tapers and the beeswax candles in this shop both fit.

Will they mark my table?

The base is bare wood with no felt. On a lacquered or polished table, stand them on a tray or a cloth.

How do I get the wax out?

Let it harden, then lift it out with your fingers or a blunt wooden edge. Never dig at it with metal and never put them in water.

A matched pair of the same height reads as symmetry, which is a decision. Ten and eight reads as a group, which is a habit. Stand them together and the table looks arranged rather than set — and it still looks right when only one of them is lit.

A few things worth knowing before it arrives.

Do I get both?

Yes — the price is for the pair, the tall one and the short one.

Can I burn a candle right down?

Stop while there is still an inch above the cup. A taper burned to the base puts heat straight onto the wood.

Do they come with felt on the base?

No. The base is left as bare wood, so use a tray or a cloth on any surface that marks.

Will the black scratch?

It can, on an edge. The finish is matte, so a scuff sits quietly rather than shining — but don't stack them.

How do I clean them?

A dry cloth, or a barely damp one. Never soak them and never put them in the dishwasher.

Every piece is shaped, sanded and finished in a small workshop. Grain, tone and outline move from one to the next, so the piece that arrives is yours rather than a copy of the photograph.
